STAINLESS WORKS 2006-2010 JEEP SRT8

HEADER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for purchasing this set of headers from Stainless Works. We have gone

through significant efforts to assure that this product fits well and can be enjoyed for

many years. These headers should be installed by a professional, on a lift with the

following instructions: After the system is completely fit up and verified for exact

fitment, we recommend a thin bead of high temp RTV to be used on each joint to assure a

leak proof seal.

1. Starting under the hood - disconnect the battery and remove.

2. Remove shock strut tower brace. You don’t need to remove it to install headers, but

it makes getting to the manifold head bolts easier.

3. Remove air box and air intake.

4. Unbolt fuse box on driver side (left) fender well and zip tie it out of the way towards

left fender, also for bolt access.

5. Loosen the top exhaust manifold bolts on both headers.

6. Jack up the vehicle or put on lift. Support the transmission and transfer case and

remove cross member bracing.

7. Unbolt and remove the old head pipe from the manifolds and factory connection point

behind the catalytic converters.

8. Remove the front drive shaft.

9. Put the cross member back in and remove the support.

10. Unbolt and remove both manifolds. Remove the top bolts and just loosen lower bolts,

the bottom holes are slotted for easier removal of the manifolds and installation of

headers.

11. Both manifolds come out thru the bottom.

12. Loosen left motor mount bolt as well as the right side, the motor mount holes are

slotted to allow a couple inches of movement. Jack up the left side of the motor.
